Pinned to National Careers Week. Year 7 students often think 'careers' means doctor, teacher or YouTuber. This module opens their eyes to the actual jobs running their high street, hospital and town hall — and connects the local labour market to what's on offer in school.
Learning outcomes
- I can name 10 different jobs visible on a typical UK high street
- I can describe what 'labour market' means in my own words
- I can identify one growing local sector
Success criteria
- High street jobs map completed in groups
- One local employer named with one fact
