For parents & carers

Follow your child's
career journey

You're the single biggest influence on the decisions your child makes about their future. Chapter Family turns what they explored this week into the conversation you have at dinner - with a gentle weekly digest and ready-made questions to ask.

Your school sends your invite

Check your email for a link from your child's school - or ask your careers leader to send you one. There's no sign-up here.

Talk about it tonight

Based on Maya's week

Maya spent time on healthcare careers and finished the “Money & Pay” quest.

What drew you to the healthcare roles?

Did anything about the pay surprise you?

We talked about this

Paused - this is the parent's view of Chapter

How it works

Three taps to your first conversation

No accounts, no passwords, no app store. Getting started takes less than a minute.

01

Your school invites you

Your child's school sends you an invite by email - no sign-up form, no account to create. Parental access is verified against the school's records, so only the right people get in.

02

Tap your magic link

Open the email and tap the link. That's your login - no password to remember. It works straight in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen in a tap.

03

Have the conversation

Each week you'll get a short digest of what your child has been exploring, plus two or three ready-made questions to spark a conversation over dinner.

Everything you need to help - in one place

Chapter Family gives you just enough of your child's journey to support them well, without overwhelming either of you.

Weekly digest & conversation starters

A gentle weekly round-up of your child's careers activity, with tailored questions you can actually ask - built around the Talking Futures model that careers experts recommend.

Your child's journey highlights

See the milestones your child chooses to share - careers they've explored, skills they've built, and quests they've completed. Highlights only, never surveillance.

Pathways & labour-market guides

Plain-English guides written for parents: real salary data, the truth about degree apprenticeships, and how to help at the big decision points at 14, 16 and 18.

Personal statement & CV support

When your child is preparing applications, you can read their draft personal statement or CV and leave supportive comments - right alongside their school.

Key dates & events

Careers events you can RSVP to, guidance appointments to prepare for, and UCAS and apprenticeship deadlines - so nothing important slips past you.

Safe by design

A window, not a watchtower

Access is granted and verified by the school. Here is exactly where the line sits.

What you see

  • The milestones your child chooses to share - careers explored, skills built, quests finished
  • A weekly conversation starter, written from what they actually did that week
  • Pathway guides in plain English, with real salary and demand data
  • Key dates: events to RSVP to, guidance appointments, UCAS and apprenticeship deadlines
  • Drafts they share with you - personal statement, CV - so you can leave a supportive note

What you never see

  • Attendance, behaviour or academic records
  • The adviser's private notes from guidance sessions
  • Anything your child hasn't chosen to share
  • Their private messages or app activity in real time

Questions parents ask

Do I need to download an app?

No. Chapter Family works right in your web browser on any phone, tablet or computer - just tap the link in your invite or digest email. If you'd like an app-like experience, you can add it to your home screen in a couple of taps, but there's nothing to download from an app store.

What if I have more than one child at the school?

You can follow all of your children from a single account. Once each child is linked, a simple switcher lets you move between them - each with their own weekly highlights, conversation starters and key dates.

I didn't get an invite - how do I get access?

Invites are sent by your child's school, not by Chapter. If you haven't received one, check your junk or spam folder first, then ask your school's careers leader to send or re-send your invite. They can add your details and get you set up in moments.

Does it cost anything?

Not for you. Where your child's school provides Chapter Family, access for parents and carers is included - there's nothing for you to pay.
